Woman’s self-inflicted injuries prompt heavy police response in Lebanon

UPDATE @ 11:55 a.m.

Police responding to a 911 call at 7:57 a.m. today believed a woman had been shot on Lawndale Avenue, but officers found a 30-year-old mother with apparently self-inflicted injuries, Lebanon Police Capt. Mike McCutchan said.

The woman, 30, who has not been identified, was being treated at Atrium Medical Center, for undetermined injuries apparently not caused by a gunshot, McCutchan said.

The 911 call came from a neighbor who found the woman’s six young children in the front yard, McCutchan said.

“They said that their mom had been shot,” he said.

The woman was found in the garage, reportedly with self-inflicted injuries. It was unclear how serious the injuries were, McCutchan added.

No schools were locked down, but police worked with school officials to ensure buses could get to school while avoiding the area cordoned off early today as police entered the home on Lawndale Drive, McCutchan said.
