Police identify girl, 17, who died in crash that sent 3 to hospital

ARCANUM — A 17-year-old girl was killed and three male companions injured early Sunday, April 18, when a car ran off a road and rolled over several times in a field, Darke County sheriff’s officers said.

Kaitlyn S. Moses, of Eldorado, was ejected from the 2004 Kia as it rolled over in a field just off Delisle-Fourman Road, officers said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, about two miles northwest of Arcanum.

Three men in the car with her were taken to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Sheriff’s officers identified the men as the driver, Todd M. Delong Jr., 19, of Lewisburg; Derek Baker, 18, of Arcanum, and Taylor V. Landes, 29, of Eldorado.

The men were taken to Miami Valley Hospital. Authorities gave no report of their injuries or medical status.

The car had run a stop sign at the intersection with Jaysville St. Johns Road, then hit a bump on Delisle-Fourman Road and went into the field, investigators said.

Authorities said they are investigating whether the driver had consumed alcohol and was driving too fast.
