Woman shot, man arrested in Union City

UPDATE @ 6:45 a.m. 

A woman was shot and a 37-year-old man was arrested by police in Union City, Ohio Friday morning.

According to online jail records, police arrested William Thomas Stein II at the same address where a early-morning shooting occurred on South Wintergreen Street.

Stein is booked in the Darke County Jail on a felonious assault charge.

Our news partners at The Early Bird report the victim, only identified as a woman, was transported to an area hospital, but her condition was unknown.

FIRST REPORT

One person has been shot at a home on South Wintergreen Street in Union City, Ohio early Friday morning.

Dispatchers confirmed medics were requested to the home in the 100 block of South Wintergreen Street around 2 a.m. after police said they located a victim who sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

CareFlight was initially requested to the scene, but was later cancelled. Scanner traffic indicated the victim was alert and talking when medics arrived, but their exact condition and severity of injuries sustained was unknown.

One person was reportedly detained at the scene, according to police scanner traffic.
