Police ID 2 killed in Tipp City motorcycle crash

Two people were killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and car in Tipp City Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The crash was reported around 4:20 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of South County Road 25A and state Route 571.

William Gates, 70, of Sidney and Vonna Williams, 66, of Piqua, both on the motorcycle were killed in the crash, Tipp City police said in a media release Monday morning.

Police said Gates and Williams were not wearing helmets when the crash happened.

The driver of the other vehicle, identified as May Clingan, 77, of Tipp City, was not injured in the crash.

Potential factors in the crash were not released.
