She was found at a KFC restaurant near the hotel and she was suffering from several cuts and gashes, wounds to her head and face, Flynn said.
Police aren't sure who the aggressor was, the sergeant said. There were no witnesses.
Police were called to the hotel on East National Road on a reported felonious assault. Both people. believed to be in their 30s, were conscious when medical personnel took them to a hospital, Flynn said.
He did not have information about the condition of either person.
Flynn said the woman is believed to be from Kentucky and the man is from India and is in this country on a work visa.
"He was losing a lot of blood from a leg injury," the sergeant said about the man, who police found in a hotel room when they and medic units arrived on scene.
"It's a pretty bloody crime scene. We're going to have to sift through it to see what the evidence shows."
Detectives were waiting for a warrant to search the hotel room.
UPDATE @ 5:30 p.m.: Police received a phone call regarding a domestic violence situation at the Super 8 hotel on East National Road, a Vandalia police sergeant tells us.
Police located a woman at a KFC restaurant near the hotel. She told them she had been beaten with a bottle. She has been taken to a hospital.
Police also spoke with a man who came out of one of the rooms at the hotel. He was suffering from stab wounds to his leg and he was in and out of consciousness. He, too, has been taken to a hospital.
The investigation into exactly what occurred is continuing, the sergeant said.
FIRST REPORT
Police and medic units are at the Super 8 Vandalia/Dayton International Airport on a report of a felonious assault that has left at least one person stabbed.
Police and medic units were dispatched to the hotel, in the 500 block of East National Road, sometime between 4:30 and 5 p.m.
We're hearing that one person may have been cut and one person was stabbed. We're also hearing that the stab wounds could be serious.
We have a crew on the way and we'll update this developing report as we get information.
