Cash reward offered for information in Forsythe Avenue shooting

A cash reward is available for anyone with information in the shooting death of a West Carrollton man that leads to an arrest.

Dandre Hill, 32, was shot multiple times Friday evening while inside his car in the 4600 block of Forsythe Avenue in Dayton.

His death has been ruled a homicide by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Anyone who has information regarding the shooting should call Dayton police at 937-333-COPS (2677) or Miami Valley Crime Stoppers at 937-222-STOP (7867).

Investigators are working to determine whether the shooter was in a car as well or standing outside when the shots were fired.

Dayton Police Lt. Randy Beane said police were dispatched around 6:18 p.m. to the area of Forsythe and Queens avenues on reports of multiple shots fired.

The same or possibly another call to dispatch reported seeing two males who were firing weapons before leaving the street in a vehicle.

Officers found multiple shell casings in the street, and a News Center 7 videographer counted as many as 15 shell casings.

Hill was driven to the hospital by private vehicle, a dispatch sergeant said, but later died.

Beane said the preliminary investigation shows Hill and the shooter may have known each other, but it’s too early to identify a suspect.
