Police officers join Miami Twp. from area law enforcement agencies

Three new officers have joined the Miami Twp. Police Department.

Ethan Bens, William Olinger and Ashley Stacy took their oaths last month. They will go through the field training officer program before being assigned to the patrol division, according to the township.

Bens has served with the Owensville and Carlisle police departments. He is a graduate of the Butler Tech Police Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University.

Olinger comes to Miami Twp. after working in the Moraine, Sinclair Community College and North Hampton police departments, according to the township. He is a graduate of the SCC police academy and earned an associate’s degree from the school.

Stacy previously spent two years with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. She is a graduate of the OSHP Training Academy.

Miami Twp. first-year officers joining the department between March 1 and Aug. 31 begin with pay rate of $28.46 an hour, according to the township.
