Power outages in Greene and Miami Counties

67 homes in Greene County are without power due to an underground fault, according to a spokesperson with DP&L.

An underground fault can be attributed to a number of factors including inclement weather, aging cables and irresponsible digging, according to DP&L.

In some instances, rainwater can find its way into hairline fractures within the underground cables and cause problems.

A DP&L spokesperson says the cause and location of the outage are unknown at this time.

The first reports of outages in the county came in around 7:30pm Tuesday.

Another 142 homes are without power in Miami County.

The cause and location of those outages are also unknown.
