The Dayton City Commission on Wednesday night will have a public hearing on the proposed planned development that could bring more new housing to the South Park neighborhood.

Local officials say the new housing will strengthen the links between the Brown Street business corridor, the South Park Historic District, downtown the University of Dayton and Miami Valley Hospital.

The proposed housing is in addition to a 4-story apartment building expected to open for move in on March 1.

City commissioners meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at city hall, 101 West Third St.
