7 questions to ask as February comes to a close

As February closes, here are seven questions you should ask yourself out of some of the month’s biggest news.

1. Would you miss Carrabba’s and Outback?

Bloomin’ brands announced that about 40 Carrabba’s, Outback, Bonefish Grill and Flemings locations would lose because of their poor performance. All four restaurants have local locations, but it hasn’t been announced which ones will close.

2. What do you remember about Americana Amusement Park?

Memories flooded in from people in the region after it was announced that Butler Tech purchased some of the land that once made up Americana Amusement Park. Butler Tech plans to build a new school in Monroe. The park closed in 2002.

3. When has warmer winter weather ever been a bad thing?

It depends on who are what you are. It turns out that these unseasonably warm temperatures could lead to a longer severe weather season, higher pollen counts for those who experience allergies and plants experiencing late freezes.

4. Do you live in one of Ohio’s safest cities?

According to the personal finance website ValuePenguin, you might. The site ranked 223 cities based on FBI statistics. Where does yours rank?

5. Which of these retailers do you want to buy from most?

You’ll have more choices soon, because multiple stores will open in the area in 2017. They include Elder-Beerman “Close to Home” shops and a Bargain Hunt, among others.

6. How much will a medical marijuana card cost in Ohio?

The Ohio Medical Marijuana Advisory Commission is considering rules about medical marijuana in the state, including how much a card will cost for those seeking medical marijuana to address chronic pain, cancer, brain injuries and other conditions. That cost? $50 a year.
