With milder air Thursday, showers are likely Thursday.
"Showers (Thursday) look to be mainly after noon, and I don't expect a lot of rain," Simpson said. "Southerly breezes will allow us to rise into the low 50s by day's end."
There's a chance for even warmer weather for the morning commute Friday, which will also be wet. "Showers increase overnight into Friday morning, and some thunder is possible, too," Simpson said.
A drying trend will take hold later in the day Friday, which will have some sun and a high in the mid 50s.
Saturday will have rain at times with wet snowflakes mixing in," Simpson said.
The system producing tornadoes in California is what meteorologists call a "cold core" system -- in the center of the weather system, 5,000 to 10,000 feet up is some really cold air. That same system passes right over the Miami Valley on Saturday, he said.
"It will not bring severe weather, but will produce snowflakes in the clouds," Simpson said. "We will be anywhere from mid 30s to 40 during the day, so most snowflakes melt into raindrops."
Nothing will stick, and the precipitation tapers off heading into evening.
"Sunday and Monday still look fantastic," Simpson said.
Sunday starts chilly, but mostly sunny skies and a light southerly wind will help temperatures jump into the mid 50s for afternoon highs.
Monday also will be mostly sunny, with highs of about 60 degrees in the afternoon.
