The fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Firefighters in Coldwater said one person has died following a garage fire Saturday night.
Crews were dispatched to a home in the 4800 block of State Route 219 around 8 p.m. Saturday on a reported grease fire in the garage of the home.
Mutual aid was requested from several area departments after firefighters reported heavy smoke and flames from the garage when they arrived on scene.
While fighting the blaze, an occupant was found in the basement of the home and was transported to a local hospital where they died.
The fire was contained to the garage but the house sustained smoke damage throughout the structure. Several vehicles inside the garage were damaged in the blaze according to firefighters.
The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.
The investigation of the fire is being conducted by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
No other injuries were reported.
