KD's Kettering BBQ will reopen this Thursday, April 16 more than three weeks after shutting down due to the coronavirus pandemic and state orders to shut down all dine-in service. The restaurant will offer curbside pickup.

A Kettering barbecue restaurant that shut down more than three weeks ago will join the growing list of restaurants and shops that are reopening for limited hours of curbside pickup service.

"Please be patient with us as we navigate this new reality of service," Marianne Keadey, owner of KD's Kettering BBQ at 3911 Marshall Road, said on the restaurant's Facebook page. "We look forward to seeing you all. Let's make this reopening a wonderful thing for our small business."

Hours will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, starting this Thursday, April 16. The menu will be limited "until we get back on our feet again," Keadey said, and will be posted soon on the KD's Kettering BBQ Facebook page.

The restaurant is “doing everything possible to follow the guidelines” set forth by state health officials during the coronavirus pandemic, Keadey told this news outlet via email.

Prior to  shutting down its carryout operation on March 23, “We did not have abilities to accept payment curbside. Now we are set up,” Keadey said. The three-week layoff “also gave us the opportunity to detail and clean the entire restaurant.”

KD’s Kettering BBQ was launched in 2001. Founder Jim Keady passed away in 2017, and his wife Marianne has been operating the restaurant as its owner since then.
