Report: Greenville police officer under investigation by Ohio BCI

A Greenville police officer is under investigation for allegations of criminal misconduct by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations, according to a report from our partners at The Early Bird.

Sgt. Shannon McDaniel is under investigation for off-duty conduct, according to Greenville police.

No charges have been filed so far.

According to the report, Ohio BCI is conducting interviews and gathering evidence and will present the information to the prosecutor’s office to determine if charges will be filed.

Greenville Police Chief Steve Strick told The Early Bird the officer involved is on paid administrative leave.

The Darke County Commission approved a resolution Monday to hire Mercer County Prosecutor Matthew Fox to assist the Darke County Prosecutor’s Office with the investigation of a Greenville police officer, The Early Bird reported.
