WATCH: Huber Heights police cruiser, responding to a call, damaged in collision

UPDATE @ 10:41 p.m. (Jan. 4): Cruiser cam footage from the Huber Heights Police Division released Friday shows a vehicle accident that left a police cruiser damaged.

At the time of the crash, an officer was responding to a traffic stop at Claircrest and Cohasset drives, where one person in a vehicle was being sought on a warrant.

Another officer was responding when it collided with a vehicle not involved with the traffic stop at Harshmanville and Longford roads in the city.

A Huber Heights police officer was involved in a crash Thursday afternoon while responding to a call.

The officer had activated the overhead lights and sirens on his cruiser, and was traveling south on Harshmanville Road. When the officer attempted to turn left onto Longford Road, his cruiser was T-boned by another car.

The crash happened around 2 p.m.

Despite initial reports, the other car involved in the crash did not flee the scene, officers said.

Neither the officer nor the other driver were injured.

The officer was responded to a traffic stop at Claircrest and Cohasset drives, where one person reportedly had a warrant, police said. The traffic stop was not related to the crash.
