Medics took three gunshot victims in unknown conditions from the scene shortly after police arrived.
Leverton could not say if a suspect in the shooting had been arrested, and said many details are still under investigation.
It is unknown if Friday's shooting is connected to a double fatal shooting reported in the same block of Richmond Avenue in June.
