The six residential roads that are planned to be repaved include Cascade Drive, Marblehead Drive, Enright Drive, Elyerne Avenue, Tyron Avenue and Brantly Avenue. The city has a total of 307 residential streets.
The city is currently accepting bids for a contractor to do the repaving. They are unsure if all the streets on their list will get a mill and fill or overlay this year because of the dollar amount.
“This is a very small percent of what actually needs to be paved, but without a levy, it is all the city can put towards paving,” Bartlett said.
The city had asked residents to pass a road levy in November, but it failed by a small margin of votes.
The project start date has not been determined because the city still accepting contractor bids.
Riverside hopes to implement a pavement management program this year. The program uses recordings of the roadways and a consultant to determine a Pavement Condition Index. PCI measures the overall condition of the roads and compares them to other cities.
Dayton and some surrounding cities have had this analysis performed.
