Runners take wrong route during half marathon

Several runners ran off course during the half marathon race, running up to four extra miles in some cases.

Wright Patterson Air Force Base spokesperson Bill Hancock confirmed there was some confusion with the route, part of Saturday’s U.S. Air Force Marathon. Race organizers have not determined what lead to the confusion.

The race’s planning committee is looking into potential causes to prevent the issue from arising in next year’s race, Hancock said.
