At Wright-Patt, Esper will be joined by Rep. Mike Turner, R-Dayton. Esper will meet with senior defense officials at Wright-Patt and will host a town hall with local service members and their families, according to the advisory.
After visiting Wright-Patt, Esper plans to host another town hall at the University of Louisville with the Fort Knox community leaders. He will be joined at the university by U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Louisville, according to the advisory.
Esper, a Pennsylvania native, was first appointed as acting DoD secretary in June before being confirmed as the departments latest full-time leader in late July.
