Software may help screen 911 dispatchers

The Miami County Communication Center’s director hopes a dispatcher testing software can help better screen potential dispatchers.

Jeff Busch, director of the countywide 911 center, told the center board Nov. 30 that changes in the way potential dispatchers are screened have been under review after some hires failed to succeed after money was spent for salaries, benefits and training, along with time of trainers. More than $17,000 was spent on salaries and benefits of two hires who did not succeed this year, he said.
