The Air Force Research Laboratory is welcoming guest speaker Dr. Karen Townsend, who will discuss leveraging the many aspects of diversity to create a stronger workforce. As part of the AFRL Diversity and Inclusion Speakers Series, Townsend will present the interactive keynote address, “This is Us!” Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. in the Air Force Institute of Technology’s Bane Hall auditorium.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to hear a dynamic and interactive speaker who can make the audience laugh and have fun while discovering tools to build better teams,” said Dr. Deniese Key, AFRL Aerospace Systems Directorate enterprise learning officer.

Townsend is a recognized subject matter expert who has spoken to professionals on the importance of not only recognizing diversity but learning about the many dimensions of diversity in the workplace that go far beyond race and gender. The goal of the presentation is to better equip leaders and team members to build strong and inclusive environments for successfully executing the mission for the warfighter.

The presentation is free and open to the entire Wright-Patterson AFB community.
