Authorities said speed is likely a factor in an early morning crash that knocked out power to about 10 households.

Around 3:10 a.m., police and medics responded to the crash in the 200 block of North Decker. Officials said the vehicle was driving west on Second Street, and instead of continuing on Second where it veers to the right, the driver went through a yard and struck a pole and tree.

About 10 houses are without power, according to DP&L.

When fire crews got on scene, live wires were down across the car, preventing them from getting to the driver. DP&L arrived on scene and cut power.
