Springboro schools and several non-profit groups recently completed a community-wide fundraiser that raised $45,071 for Trotwood Madison City Schools to use for tornado relief efforts.

The school district presented a check to Trotwood school officials Friday night during the schools’ football game.

More than 200 students who attend Trotwood Madison schools were displaced from their homes as a result of the tornadoes that struck Trotwood on Memorial Day.

The money raised will go toward school uniforms for students who were displaced from their homes. The goal was for each student to have three school uniforms for this current school year. Any additional funds over the goal will go toward additional uniforms for Trotwood students most in need.

Each of the six school buildings in Springboro schools conducted its own type of fundraiser, which took place on various days throughout the months of August and September.
