Burfict received a three-game suspension the day after the wild-card loss for repeated violations of player safety rules.
Brown also said Jones was lying when he went on the Dan Patrick Show last month and said the wide receiver was winked at him after the hit. Although Brown also admitted he had memory loss and didn’t remember any of the conversations he had with coaches and trainers on the field after the hit.
Jones also accused Brown of faking the injury to draw the flag that, coupled with a second 15-yarder on Jones, enabled the Steelers to kick the game-winning field goal.
“I lost a tremendous respect for him when he went on record saying that I winked at him,” Brown said on PFT Live later in the day. “I was unconscious, I didn’t really even remember what had transpired so for him to say something like that is totally a coward, it’s idiotic.” Brown did say that Jones texted him an apology in addition to the one he posted on Instagram, but the wide receiver said he hasn’t heard anything from Burfict and doesn’t expect to.
“You know what kind of guy he is, what type of player he is,” Brown told PFT Live. “He’s a real unprofessional-like player. An undisciplined player. You saw the hit against me. Late, unnecessary. It caught up with them and we were able to win the game.”
On the Cook and Poni Show on 93.7 The Fan, Brown intensified his accusations.
“I feel like guys don’t want to stop me now more,” he said. “They want to take me out. They want to kill. They want to steal my dreams. They want to ruin me. They want to end me. We’re not going to let them. We’re going to win more.”
