1 injured in wrong-way crash on I-70 near Richmond

Both vehicles were traveling east along I-70 near the 154 Mile Marker when the Honda pulled onto the shoulder, made a U-turn and began driving west in the eastbound lanes before colliding with the semi, according to the sheriff’s office.

The eastbound lanes were closed for a short period following the crash.

King was taken to Reid Health in Richmond for non-life-threatening injuries. Bender reported no injuries.

The sheriff’s office said “additional investigation is underway to determine the cause for King’s vehicle to maneuver inappropriately.”
