“We went through a re-branding process with local tourism and industry experts Fahlgren Mortine, “explains Bev Rose, directer of marketing for the Dayton Convention & Visitors Bureau. “As a result of the multi-month process, we decided to freshen our look and develop a new logo.”
The new artwork, in bold red and blue, shows the Wright Flyer in the “O” in Dayton. The new videos will be used to attract conventions, reunions, youth and amateur sports tournaments, meetings, events and leisure travelers to the community.
Here are details about the two contests:
Say Cheese! Logo Photo Contest
Between now and June 30, visit the CVB website (www.daytoncvb.com) and click on the "Enter our logo contests and win" box in the top left side of the homepage. Then scroll down and click on Say Cheese! Photo Contest and then follow the instructions to print out the logo.
Take a photograph of yourself — or you and your family/friends — holding the logo and enjoying any of Dayton/Montgomery County’s many offerings — attractions, arts and culture, parks and recreation, restaurants, shopping etc.
E-mail your photo to nredd@daytoncvb.com. Photos will be shared via the CVB’s social media outlets after staff has acquired some minimal contact information from you.
A Dayton gift basket will be awarded for each of four categories: most photos submitted, most creative photo, photo with the most people in it, and photo that receives the most likes or retweets once posted via CVB’s social media outlets.
Where’s The Logo? Contest
• Like and follow the Dayton Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Facebook and Twitter postings (daytoncvb.com) for clues on locating small travel suitcases with the new logo throughout the community. The first clue goes up today.
• Seven suitcases have been hidden in Montgomery County and clues to uncover them will be posted each day.
• Locate one of the small travel suitcases and bring it to the CVB offices (first floor of the Dayton Convention Center at Fifth and Main streets) and win a gift bag including a T-shirt with the logo and a Wilbear Wright Aviator Teddy Bear. You’ll also be entered into a drawing to win a flight in the Wright B Flyer.
