Jim's Donut Shop on National Road in Vandalia reopened Monday afternoon, and will be open its usual 24 hours a day going forward.

Jim’s Donut Shop has overcome many challenges and calamities in its five decades of serving sweet baked treats — and it has now survived the coronavirus pandemic of 2020.

The venerable and popular doughnut shop at 122 E. National Road in Vandalia reopened to the public at 3 p.m. yesterday, Monday May 18, and immediately jumped back into its regular around-the-clock 24-hour schedule, an employee of the shop said.

Not everything is the same, however. For now, Jim’s is serving carryout orders only; indoor seating is not allowed. Only three customers can be in the shop at the same time. Phone orders are being accepted.
