Here are five things to know about the case

1. Allegations surfaced in January, five days after the alleged incidents occurred at a New Year's party in the basement of a home in Bellbrook.

2. In February the teen suspect was charged as a juvenile with two counts of rape, first-degree felonies. The suspect denied guilt at an arraignment earlier this month, and the teen is due to appear for an initial court appearance on May 30.

3. Investigative records provided by Bellbrook police include a record of a texting conversation the evening of New Year's Day in which the juvenile male suspect admitted to the victim that he had sex with her while she was asleep. Police interviewed and obtained statements from at least eight juveniles who were at the party, according to the records.

4. The teen suspect voluntarily withdrew from the Sugarcreek-Bellbrook school district and is continuing his education at home through online courses, according to his attorney, Kevin Hughes of Springboro.

5. Because it is a juvenile case, if the defendant is found guilty, the judge has a wide range of options when it comes to sentencing, from probation to being put in the custody of the Ohio Department of Youth Services.
