Centerville Mayor Brooks Compton gave his annual State of the City address this week, discussing achievements made in 2016 and what residents can look forward to this year.

Here are the three projects residents in Centerville can expect:

Miami Valley South Hospital in Centerville to expand

Miami Valley South Hospital plans $60 million in expansions to the Centerville campus with 170,000 square feet being added, along with 42,000 of existing square feet being renovated.

City council approved a $30 million luxury apartment complex that will connect with Cross Pointe Shopping Center. It’s the first multi-family development in Centerville in over 20 years.

The project, called The Allure, will feature seven four-story buildings at the site of the former Showcase Cinemas movie theater.

A new 125,000 square-foot Kroger will be open by early June at Cornerstone of Centerville, while other retailers and restaurants are still making their way to the area. Kroger has invested $21.2 million into the new store at the Cornerstone of Centerville development.

The store will employ approximately 300 workers, and will start hiring for positions a few months before the opening.
