More than 4,300 Dayton Power & Light customers were without power early this morning in Clinton and Highland counties.
LOCAL WEATHER: Winter Weather Advisory issued ahead of accumulating snow tonight
The power has since been restored.
One customer told this newsroom that she was notified DP&L would be taking service offline for transformer maintenance.
Customers were notified in advance of this outage with a phone call, DP&L said in a tweet around 4 p.m. Thursday. Power was scheduled to be out starting at midnight through 4 a.m.
We are working to find out from DP&L why this maintenance was needed, and whether it could have been postponed until temperatures were higher.
