Crystal Riegelsberger, mother of the two young students threatened, was very upset with how the school handled the situation. “This situation wasn't taken seriously enough, the student could have had a handgun that fired bullets not BB's,” stated Riegelsberger. The student in question was also still put on the same school bus home as her two sons, even after school personnel learned of the situation.

Riegelsberger and other multiple parents stated that they were never informed of the incident by school personal.
