Two more local restaurants will flip the switch from ‘Closed’ to ‘Open for Carryout’

Two more Dayton-area restaurants are firing up their kitchens and will join the growing number of eateries transitioning from closed to open for carryout and delivery, as the Miami Valley and the rest of Ohio gear up to slowly rebound from the coronavirus pandemic-related shutdown.

The Deli at Webster Street & Top of the Market, which had closed its doors after serving lunch on March 18, has announced it will reopen for carryout and delivery beginning Monday, May 4.

The Deli, known for its stuffed sandwiches, soups and baked goods, is located at 32 Webster St. near the 2nd Street Market. Its menu items include  Emily’s Grilled Cheese: Smoked Gouda, Havarti, and Parmesan cheeses with Roma tomato slices and pesto mayo on grilled sourdough bread, $7.99; and the Railman: pastrami, salami, turkey, and bacon with cheddar cheese topped with brown mustard on grilled marbled rye bread, also $7.99.

And CJ Chan will be reopening its Moraine location at 2747 W. Alex Bell Road on Friday, May 1. The CJ Chan on Wilmington Avenue in Dayton remains closed for now.

CJ Chan Moraine will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, offering carryout, online ordering through its web site, and delivery on several meal-delivery platforms, including DoorDash.

The restaurant expects to serve virtually all of the dishes on its regular menu, CJ Chan’s owners said. The restaurant serves a varied menu that includes sushi rolls and Asian stir-fry dishes.
