Driver arrested after single-vehicle accident at Austin Landing

UPDATE @ 7:37 p.m.: The driver of an SUV did not drive off the second floor of the Hilton Garden Inn at Austin Landing, but turned the vehicle on its side after hitting small trees, bushes and curbing near the garage, Miami Twp. fire personnel said.

The woman driver was not injured, but was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, Miami Twp. police said.

The first call to a police and fire dispatch claimed the vehicle had been driven off the second floor of the garage.

INITIAL REPORT

Fire-rescue personnel had to extricate a driver from an SUV that was driven off the second floor of the Hilton Garden Inn, off Innovation Drive at Austin Landing in Miami Twp.

The accident was dispatched just after 7 p.m. We're hearing the vehicle came to rest on its side once it hit the ground from the garage.

We're also hearing that fire-rescue personnel had to "pop" the windshield to get the driver out.
