VIDEO: Kettering police chase woman accused of dragging Miami Twp. officer at Dayton Mall

Cruiser camera footage shows the intense moments of a Kettering police chase involving a woman wanted for dragging a Miami Twp. officer at the Dayton Mall earlier this week.

Loretta Bizzell, 24, was charged with robbery, assault on an officer and failure to comply following the chase, which ended on Rahn Road near Far Hills Avenue Monday afternoon.

Police said Bizzell escaped from loss prevention officers at JC Penney and ran across the parking lot as Miami Twp. officers ran after her, eventually grabbing her near her car. Officers said Bizzell resisted and police used a Taser to try to get her to comply.

“The officer was trying to pull her from the vehicle when she drove the car in reverse, running over curbs and a tree while dragging the officer,” police said in a statement.  “The officer freed himself from the car as it was turning to speed away from the scene.”

Within a few minutes, Miamisburg police spotted Bizzell driving on Mad River Road and Kettering police started chasing her on David Road near Far Hills.   The chase continued on Akerman Boulevard with the vehicle going the wrong-way, nearly hitting several other cars, the video showed.

Kettering police struck the back side of her car, causing it to spin out and Bizzell was arrested.

Bizzell appeared in municipal court Thursday and her bond was set at $50,000.
