A 25-year-old man was arrested on felony drug charges while police were patrolling an East Fifth Street neighborhood following recent drug complaints, according to a Dayton police report.
Lorenzo Townsend Jr. was booked into jail on suspicion of drug possession and was arrested on an outstanding warrant, according to the report.
Police spotted Townsend approach a parked vehicle behind a building in the 2600 block of East Fifth around 6:45 p.m., the report read.
“He appeared to reach into the driver side of the car and had a surprised look on his face upon seeing us,” an officer wrote in the report.
After approaching Townsend and identifying him, police handcuffed Townsend for an outstanding warrant, according to the report
While being transported to jail, Townsend told police he had crack cocaine in his underwear, which was recovered at the jail, police reported.
