Warren County Health Inspections

The following are summaries of state of Ohio standard inspection reports on file from the Warren County Combined Health District, from the weeks of July 18 to July 29. District information is available online at www.wcchd.com.

Super Subby’s

276 W. Central Ave., Springboro

Date of inspection: July 18

Violations: Lunch meat sliced and not marked in back cooler. To prevent foodborne illness, refrigerated, ready-to-eat, TCS food held at a temperature of 41F or less for more than 24 hours shall be clearly marked at the time of preparation or the time the original container is opened to indicate the date or day, that is a maximum of seven days, by which the food shall be consumed, sold, or discarded. The day the food is prepared or opened is day one.

Food thermometer are not accurate to plus or minus one degree C, or plus or minus two degrees F in the intended range of use. To prevent foodborne illness, food temperature measuring devices that are scaled only in Celsius or dually scaled in Fahrenheit and Celsius shall be accurate to plus or minus one degree Celsius in the intended range of use; Food temperature measuring devices that are scaled only in Fahrenheit shall be accurate to plus or minus two degrees Fahrenheit in the intended range of use.

Subway

24 Hiawatha Trail, Springboro

Date of inspection: July 18

Violations: Manager did know how to determine thermometer accuracy and had not used sanitizer test strips since coming to the facility in April 2016. Manager will either take the food safety course offered by Subway or Level II food safety within 2 months. To prevent or correct factors that may cause foodborne illness, based on the risks inherent to the food operation, during inspections and upon request, the person in charge shall demonstrate to the licensor the applicable food safety knowledge at the time of inspection. Correct By: 21-Sep-2016.

Comments: One item noted.

Chubby’s Pizza

537 W. Pike St., Morrow

Date of inspection: July 18

Violations: TCS foods were not being held at the proper temperature. Sliced tomatoes and lettuce were being held at room temperature. Corrected. Both items were placed on ice during the inspection and were brought down to 41F. To prevent the growth of pathogens, except during preparation, cooking, or cooling, or when time is used as a public health control, TCS food shall be held at 135F or above (except that roasts cooked using time and temperature parameters in 3717-1-03.3 may be held at 130F), or at 41F or less.

Equipment and/or components are not maintained in good working order. The inside of the walk-in refrigerator door is in poor repair and has sharp edges. Equipment shall be maintained in a state of repair and condition that meets the requirements specified under rules 3717-1-04 and 3717-1-04.1 of this code.

The physical facilities are not being maintained in good repair. There are parts of the covering on the front of the pizza counter that are missing exposing the particle board under the covering. The physical facilities shall be maintained in good repair.
