The Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ Supportive Families & Allies Group will meet on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. at the Warren C. Young Center, 801 Drake Road in Lebanon.
The meeting will feature a presentation on state updates on system changes within the developmental disabilities field.
The Supportive Families & Allies Group meets once a month to provide support to families of children who have developmental disabilities. The group is open to families and guardians who are caregivers to individuals receiving services from the Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
The group meets on the third Thursday of each month at various locations.

Humane society to hold annual stroll
The Humane Association of Warren County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center will host its annual Stroll for Strays on Saturday. Pre-registration check-in and event-day registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. on the shelter’s 2.2-acre grounds at 230 Cook Road. The 1.5-mile walk will start at 10:30 a.m.
There will be activities after the stroll, including best dog costumes and best dog trick contests, face painting, a strolling magician, training tips and more.

Oktoberfest to raise money for Miller Park
Lebanon’s Oktoberfest will be held in downtown Lebanon from 11 a.m to 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17.
This free event will feature live music, craft beers, food and shopping..
There will be kids’ activities from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., including a Cool Critters animal program with a petting zoo at 1:30 p.m. and a Raptor “Hunters of the Sky” program at 12:30 p.m.
The event is geared to raise funds for the community’s Miller Ecological Park. The 46-acre ecological park is located at 755 Miller Road and features walking paths, more than 10 acres of prairie and wildflower areas, reforested habitats, and other features that promote appreciation of ecology and natural areas.
