Parkinson support group to talk about sleep

The Franklin Parkinson Support Group will meet Tuesday, June 9, at 1:30 p..at St. Mary Church Center, behind the church at 115 S. Main St., Franklin.

“Sleep Disorders in Parkinson’s Disease,” for those with the disease and their partners, will be the subject of a presentation by Bruce Ferris of the Kettering Health Network Sleep Disorders Centers. Ferris will speak on the different types of disorders, the symptoms of sleep apnea, how sleep disorders are diagnosed, treatment options and the correlation between REM Behavioral Disorders and Parkinson’s Disease.

Persons with Parkinson’s, their care partners and friends are welcome. The program is free. St. Mary is handicapped-friendly.

I-71 closure happening this morning

Utility work will require a short-term full closure on Interstate 71 this morning. One 15-minute full closure will be in place on I-71 just north of State Route 48 between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. Law enforcement officers will be used for traffic control.

Snider Road to be closed on 2 days

On Tuesday, June 9, Snider Road in Deerfield Twp. will be closed. The closure will be for two days between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting.

The closure is between Irwin-Simpson Road and Socialville-Fosters Road. The detour will utilize Irwin-Simpson Road to Wilkens Blvd to Socialville-Fosters Road.

Morrow-Rossburg Road closure starts Tuesday

On Tuesday, Morrow-Rossburg Road in Harlan Twp. will be closed. The closure will be for four days between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting.

The closure is between Ohio 132 and Long Spurling Road. The detour will utilize Ohio 132 to Pleasant Plain Road to Ohio 28.

Hydrants to be flushed next week

The Morrow Public Works Department will be flushing fire hydrants throughout the water service area Monday through Friday.

Crews will be flushing the hydrants during the overnight hours in an effort to minimize any disturbances with residents’ daily routines.
