Where to grab fries, kids meals and frozen treats for free (or practically free) this week

Looking for an inexpensive way to treat yourself?

Nobody wants to pay full price for food when discounts are available. And there are plenty of those happening right now.

Here are four deals to know about:

Icee deals from Sam’s Club

On July 15 and 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., all Sam’s Clubs in the U.S. will be handing out Icee float samples.

You don’t have to be a member of Sam’s Club to get this summer deal. Sam’s Club Cafe is open to the general public and is serving 20-ounce Icee floats (Icee mixed with frozen yogurt) for 99 cents all summer long or a regular summer size Icee for 50 cents.

Get a free Dairy Queen Blizzard

Love ice cream? Dairy Queen is offering a free small Blizzard to those who download its app.

Thrillist reported that the effort is part of a campaign to get more people to use the restaurant's app. Users can download the DQ app from Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Once they sign up and register, the app will get a mobile coupon for a free small Blizzard treat, ranging from Oreo to cotton candy.

Before heading out to the nearest Dairy Queen for a treat, be sure it is participating in the offer.

“Most DQ restaurants throughout the United States and Canada are individually owned and operated franchises, so special promotions or coupons are decided by the store management or owner,” the restaurant chain said on Twitter.
