Why in the world are parents taking kids to see R-rated Deadpool?

Hey moms and pops, the “R” in R-rated stands neither for “Ryan” nor “Reynolds.”

And  guess what, the possibility of seeing sexy Reynolds being all sexy and/or sexy tough is no excuse to take your kids to see Deadpool.

It’s not a kid’s movie.

Despite the very obvious “R” rating, many parents have been aghast that there is nudity, foul language and violence in the recently-released superhero movie.

They have expressed disdain all over the interwebs. Some have even walked out of theaters with tots in tow.

Oh me, oh my.

Like the Marvel Comics story it is based on, Deadpool the movie is chock-full of sex, nudity, violence, gore, profanity, frightening and/or intense scenes according to EVERYTHING written about it.

Sounds good to me, but get a babysitter.

The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) breaks down a few of the reason the movie ain't for kids, including one scene where a character humps a stuffed unicorn for laughs.

That’s one of the few descriptions we can name here.

The trailer could have been a hint, as could the social media post from the movie. Hey parents, the F-bomb is Deadpool’s friend.

A mom's Change.org petition that asked 20th Century Fox to simultaneously release a PG-13 version of the movie should have also have been a clue that yeah, this ain't Finding Nemo.

Ryan Reynolds, who helped write and produce the movie, doesn't see that happening, according to ComicBook.com.

"I don't think so," he said when asked if 20th Century Fox would even consider a PG-13 cut of Deadpool. "I mean, you saw it. That would be a very short movie. It's almost a commercial at that point."

In short, take your kids to see Deadpool if you want to, but don’t be surpised if they have questions about unicorn sex afterwards.
