A woman charged after a man was doused in a flammable liquid and set on fire has been found not guilty.

Diane Mathis, 52, had been charged with aggravated arson and assault stemming from the July incident.

Mathis was found not guilty during her jury trial this week.

Isaac Dillard told News Center 7’s Mike Campbell in July that Mathis came to his house with his uncle when they both lost their homes due to tornado damage. Dilliard had accused Mathis of setting him on fire, causing the severe injuries.

Dillard took the stand during the trial and told inconsistent statements about what happened the night of the fire.
