Wright-Patt dodgeball tournament to support domestic violence center

The Wright-Patterson First Sergeants, Chaplain Corps and Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Office are teaming up to host a dodgeball tournament at the Jarvis Gym at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base April 19 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event takes place in conjunction with April Sexual Assault Awareness Month and is open to all base employees. Planned activities include information booths, free food, music and games.

To participate, a minimum of one donation per player is required as an entry fee. Recommendations for donations are canned foods, lotions, shampoos and female hygiene items. All donations will go to support the Artemis Center, a local treatment center for victims of domestic violence.

Teams will compete for a chance to claim the ultimate prize, “the Golden Wrench.” A contest will be held for best team costume/uniform and largest team donation.

Rules are double elimination, best of three, then best of five.

Volunteers are needed for score-keeping, set-up and tear-down, to collect donations and to serve/cook food.
