Trotwood police are asking for the public’s help nearly a year-and-a-half after a man was found shot to death in his home.

Charles McLemore Sr., 73, was found shot multiple times in the house in the 5400 block of Northford Road, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

The shooting was reported on Aug. 24, 2018.

Trotwood police responded to the house around 9:30 a.m. after a Merchant Security Officer was sent to check on McLemore when he hadn’t been seen or heard for days, according to records.

McLemore’s body was found just inside the door of the home covered in a blanket and a shell casing was found nearby, court records show.

McLemore’s death was ruled a homicide.

Coroner’s investigators believe McLemore had been dead for two days before he was found killed.

Several hours before McLemore’s body was discovered his car was found on fire in the area of West Hillcrest Avenue and Kipling Drive in Dayton.

Anyone with information on McLemore’s death is asked to contact Trotwood Police at 937-854-7238 or Miami Valley Crime Stoppers at 937-222-STOP (7867).
