Youngest rider ever joins in final Blue Streak ride of 2019

James Jones, who is 4, completed his first Blue Streak Time Trial on Oct. 8, pedaling the 10-mile route around the Area A flightline at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 67 minutes.

James’ father, Maj. Will Jones of the Air Force Materiel Command Law Office, followed James on a separate bicycle, pulling 1-year-old brother Thomas in a trailer.

Maj. Jones said afterward, “We enjoyed our race!”

Josh Bozue of Fairborn won his 14th consecutive Blue Streak time trial that afternoon, covering the 10 miles in just 21:02 for a blazing 28.5 mph average. Bozue has won all Blue Streak Time Trials in 2018 and 2019.

Blue Streak Time Trials will resume April 14, 2020, and continue on second Tuesdays through Oct. 13. Those without base access must pre-register at least 10 days before each Blue Streak Time Trial by going to the Speedy Feet website at http://www.speedy-feet.com/race-entry.php?id=1472.
