Man charged after alleged threats to harm Middletown store employee

UPDATED @ 3:30 p.m.:

A Middletown man was charged with drug offenses after he allegedly threatened a Speedway store clerk this morning.

Richard Greenfield, 33, was charged with drug instruments and possession of heroin, cocaine and meth, according to Sgt. David Birk from the Middletown Division of Police.

Originally, it was reported that Greenfield may have threatened a clerk with a knife, but Birk said Greenfield never displayed a weapon.

Greenfield was transported to Atrium Medical Center for evaluation because officers thought he was “on drugs,” Birk said.

Then he was transported to the City Jail.
