Man identified who was shot, killed near Popeye's

Montgomery County Sheriff's Department Maj. David Hale said Miller was shot once and then thrown out of the vehicle. A friend of the victim's picked him up at the shooting scene and drove him about a block away to a Popeye's on Salem Avenue.

Medics were called and picked up Miller from the fast food restaurant and took him to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"The detectives have some leads, some things they're following up.  The victim was with a female friend. We're interviewing that female friend as well as some neighbors and people in the area to see where that takes us," Hale said.
