Coronavirus: Microsoft to give 12 weeks of parental leave

Microsoft is giving its employees three months of paid parental leave amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The additional leave can be used as either a complete 12 weeks or used as a few days a week to help fill the gap as schools and child care facilities remain closed because of COVID-19, CNN reported.

Business Insider first reported the move last week.

The time off allows "employees greater flexibility and time off as they face extended school closures," a company spokesperson told CNN.
