New CNG fueling station unveiled today

The new Montgomery County Compressed Natural Gas Fueling Station was unveiled this morning in Moraine.

The CNG station, at 2750 Cardington Road, will help Montgomery County improve air quality by reducing emissions, according to a release.

“Our hope is that this station will help to drive economic growth, improve local air quality, and reduce our fleet fueling and maintenance costs,” Montgomery County Commission President Judy Dodge said in a release. “In fact, we expect for the CNG station to pay for itself through our district’s fuel savings alone.”

The station also will help the Montgomery County Solid Waste District save nearly $150,000 per year in fueling costs, reduce lifetime vehicle maintenance costs, and help drive local economic development by making this cleaner, greener fuel available to the public and local businesses, the release says.

The fueling station is now open to the public.

“The Solid Waste District is also committed to investing in the economic future of the region and this fueling station is a true testament to that commitment,” Dick Church, Miamisburg Mayor and President of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee, said in a release.
