The rebate check issued to counties will reflect the amounts minus any outstanding balance owed the Ohio BWC, according to a news release.
The rebate comes from the public work-relief employees' fund, which provides counties with workers' compensation coverage for work-relief employees.
Work-relief employees are people who work for government entities in exchange for public assistance payments. The public work-relief employees’ fund has grown by more than $10 million over the past 10 years.
