While there’s no federal law requiring employers to provide meal breaks for workers in the private sector, 20 states do have laws on the books, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Ohio isn’t one of them although Section 4109.07(c) of the Ohio Revised Code does require that minors working five or more consecutive hours get at least a 30-minute break.
Should state lawmakers consider expanding the 30-minute break law to apply to all workers in Ohio?
